2004 looks update, lose the silver vinyls?

So i purchased a 2004 CBR600RR with 58000kms on the clock a few weeks back, shes old and has issues but the motor runs sweet! the original colour was blue but after an accident 1 of the owners made her black with silver, i like the look somewhat but no point trying to keep her original if shes already different from the factory.

the plan is as follows:
1: Remove all weird stickers (fake bullet hole and stickers all over the rear mudguard)
2: Remove grey vinyls
3: Replace all fairing bolts with new black ones (alot are missing or mismatched)
4:possible fairing respray to black, parts are rare for this bike in my country and if found are just so expensive. the current paint is very chipped and scratched so cannot be saved

i found a picture of a user here (attached below) with a black bike and gold detailing i think looks really good

so lose the silver or nah?

Silver is so boring, double so if its on black.

Lose it. Personally I’d go Black/Gold or Black/Red.

Too bad they switched from the Blue. It’s so unique.

so far its 3 to change and 4 to keep :) interesting!

iv been trying to buy fairings but they all cost around 25% of what i paid for the bike in my country, wraps is about 20% of the bikes price..

looking at a superfairings unpainted in black but thats also still expensive

Why does the cost of a mod vs the cost of the bike matter?
And I see 4 people saying dont keep the silver, none saying keep it on your poll.

IMHO?.....don't spend any $$ on making it look good until you've made it ride right.

?'s

Bike running good?

All rotating gear (chain/sprockets sorted/tidy/clean), and tires fresh?

Then tune suspension.

Follow maintenance schedule with skill and judgement.

Cane the shxt out of it.

If you do above, you'll find you're spending a good amount of $$$ keeping bike in fine fettle.

Don't worry about looks, the bike will acquire a beautiful weathered look.

Function is more important than a nice paint job.

GL!

I'd say lose the decals.
Black on it's own looks good, or you could add some different colour vinyl instead which is relatively inexpensive

Shame they didn't keep it blue, I love mine in candy tahitian blue

As above though, if she has a few mechanical issues, get them sorted as well as a good full service. That should have her running sweet. Aesthetics can follow.

Thanks everyone for the feedback :)

so the motor runs sweet, tyres are newish, its serviced and perfect mechanically . i had the electrical issues resolved other than the emergencies which i will do later. so her lights now work

the vinyl on the side fairings is not under clearcoat so that will be coming off, the tank however the vinly is under the clear coat so its going to the body shop to get it removed and the bike polished.

otherwise superfairings have got a nice fairing kit for me and i did a poll in my country and all feedback was positive so that may be an option.

i will do a thread of it and its progress, again thanks everyone!
