What is this!

Hi
I’m trying to determine what the following is on my engine as I’ve had a stethoscope out to determine a light tap/knock noise on warm up. I’ve found the part, actually there are 4 of them, but the one nearest the radiator cooling fan is quite noisy. I I’ve added photo from my manual, there on the cylinder head just in front of the reed valves with an electrical connector on each, there are 4 cylindrical “plugs”
What are these and is it normal for them to be noisy on warm up?
Thanks

Those are the PAIR valves, part of the emissions system, I wouldn't worry!

Lol.... Your ignition coils? No they shouldn't make any noise.

Ah I thought the plugs were further back under the tank lol!!
So what causes a noisy plug/coil on warm up,it’s fine once at full temp?

chances are it's not the coil. but either way pull the coil and the spark plug and check it out.

move the coil from cylinder 1 to cylinder 4 and vice versa. see if the noise follows the coil. chances are it won't'.

Your pic is not a coil its a pair valve and shouldn't be making any noise at all. Doesn't matter though it won't affect the bike its just emissions related.
