Oil Level

I had the bike on a paddock stand the other day to check the oil level, I noticed the level drops when the bike is running. Where should the oil level by running vs standing?

you don't check the oil level when it's running. that's irrelevant.

I Warm the bike up to normal operating temp/or after a ride, let it stand for 5 mins with engine off to let the oil settle while warm. Stand the bike up level not using a paddock stand etc (easier if you have someone to hold the bike level for you) then check the oil is between the lower and upper marks in the sight glass.
I always check it this way and not when the engine/oil is cold 👍

Checking cold is fine, all the oil is drained into the sump by then. Warming up and waiting 5min is the way the manual tells you to do it. Don't check running.

bike on f/r stands, I check for oil level to be in between slightly above widest upper part and narrow neck of sight glass.

done when cold.

If level down in narrow neck I add 100 cc, but I usually do an oil change instead, it's usually about time.
