Auto Club Speedway-Aug 22nd

Anybody going to the track day at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana on August 22nd with FastTrack? A coworker and myself will be up there, hope to see someone else there! They are only doing class 1-2 riders, I hope to be able to keep up with those guys and not ball my sh!t up! Got to study when I get back! :book1:

im trying to decide between this or streets of willow the next day. Willow is half the price.

Is Fontana worth it? Im from Norcal and never ridden any of these tracks, gonna be at the gf's place in OC that week.

costs too much imo! as for it being worth it, thats entirely up to you mang. you'd have to ride it to be the judge. i have talked to people about it and get 50/50 reviews...some say they like that track, others say they prefer the other tracks.
i go for the cheapest trackdays...and auto club speedway td's are expensive imo. the most ive spent on a td is the one im going to on monday...at thunderhill w/ pacific track time.

one day when i can afford it, ill give auto club speedway a try and judge for myself.

goodluck in your decision kalamari.

its intriguing, but i try to think of how itd be if there wasnt a big set of bleachers, fancy garages, and sponsor banners everywhere. guess ill have to try for myself, but driving back to the bay area seems easier from rosamond than fontana. people have pretty good things to say about big willow track, although it seems faster than i prefer

tracks are more expensive out here i tell ya, youll love Thill. Have you been before? If not, its a simply awesome track with everything you can ask for. Not that technical and real easy to learn as well. Ill be there for the fast way school on tuesday.

If youre in the area this weekend, Pacific Track Time will be at the Dainese Dstore San Frnacisco for a trackday seminar on Saturday at 10am-12pm. Dave Moss, and Ken casey from Race Ready Motorsports will also be there.

Well here's my report about Auto Club Speedway. ::clears throat::

IT'S PHREAKIN AWESOME!!!! I had an absolute blast. The track has the perfect mix of twisties and straights. I was a bit nervous at first riding with classes 2&3 mixed but it turned out to be fine, even if I was one of the slowest in the bunch. I think I've found my notch in B group though. Doing streets with Rick Becker and a Palomar run to get me back into the swing of things after deployment was a must, I was feeling really good about body position and my comfort zone. My fastest lap time was 1.57, not good but not bad I guess. It is expensive, hands down. However my bud's Mom lives in Rialto so it's just a quick jaunt from her place, saving on a hotel. It's also 1/3 the distance then Willow. The garages are really nice, with power for tire warmers and decent bathrooms. The track surface was well maintained, the same can't be said for Streets of Willow. FastTrack also really has their ish together, more so than Ti2TT. Transponders included with the price, giveaways, and a good tech team with plenty of vendors. (Vendors due mostly to it being a WERA weekend) N'uff said.

My buddy on a 1000RR qualified to get his provisional WERA license on Saturday, but on his first practice run Sunday morning he balled his ish up when he scrubbed the candy cane and the front tire said, nope! He's ok though. Anybody got '04 1000RR parts handy? It needs pretty much everything.
