2006 suspension set up

Im doing my first track day in a few weeks. and i know how important suspension set up is on a stock car (i used to race stock cars) so im sure it is on a bike as well. i know my suspension is all jacked out of place. i had them put in a lowering link. so since my bike is lowered i had them stiffen the heck out of the rear and front suspension. because when i would ride 2 up id bottom out. so im putting the regular link back on and i want to get my suspension in good shape.

Suspension varies per track and how you ride but if you get someone to set it up just based on your weight alone you'll notice a huge difference. I have a guy that tweaks mine every track day out ....but I am just learning about suspension too so you have to learn how to give proper feedback as well . But you'll be happy you did it

Check this video out it will help u narrow the suspension. it will still need to be tweaked a lil after tho. I too am only 135 to 140 lbs and this video helped me out. You may need a few friends to do this so call up some of the buddies for an hour or so.

u can always tweak it to how u ride... i'm a late braker so i usually end up stiffening up the front... as long as the rear isn't sliding to much when i pick it up it's all good

What i never got is how you have someone set up and tweak suspension for you if you don't know how to do it your self.

Beyond your weight how do they know what to set it at with out your input of how the bike is handling, and i would think to give proper input you would have to have a pretty good idea of how to tune suspension.

^not trying to be a ****, that is an actually question, what exactly are these suspension guys doing to set up your bike?

when the dude t the track did mine. he set my sag for my weight. then adjusted the compression and rebound for me. he set it up basically neutral. then he tweaked it after a few sessions an i gave him some input.
