Removing mirrors for track day, do I need anything?

My first track day is coming up soon. I obviously need to remove my mirrors for it. A buddy mentioned that I will probably need to come up with some kind of bracket so I can put the mirror bolts back in. I guess to support the upper fairing. Any truth to this? Or can I simply remove them and go?

or just put a zip tie thru the holes on each side. At least that's what I do when I put on my track plastics.

+1 on this. This is the easiest, quickest way to get the job done and will pass tech without issue.

I just take the arm off and leave the bracket on the bike.
