Optimal Racing Fairings Installed

Just a quick post... not sure if anyone put up pictures of Optimal Racing fairings installed yet. Got some finished up today. They went on fairly easy, seem to be good quality. The fit is fine, no major issues. Only thing is it seems like they are designed to fold in to place... is the only way I can describe it. Like, the "wings" on the tank cover (that go down under the seat sort of), they stick out when not fastened down, but when you press them down and bolt them on, it fits fine. It think it's supposed to be like that because some other pieces are similarly desgined.

Anyway, what everone cares about... pictures.

Next up: paint! Still trying to decide what color(s) to do them. Let me know what you think.

I have them on the bike I bought. The only thing I didn't like was the upper where it fit the nose. The ram air tube sits about 1" back from the edge of the fiberglass vs a flush fit. Prolly going to armour bodies next.

That's about the color blue and everything I was looking at getting.. Were the indentions where the holes should go anywhere close to where they actually end up going when you all mounted them up?

Also when you painted them did you prime or just use the factory gel coat as your primer? Also you use enamel paint which i beleive requires no clear coat..

They are hotbodies, and no the indentions didn't line up, as for paint, I just went to my local home depot and bought some rustoleom, and sprayed it in my garage then cleared it a couple times, it came out pretty decent, I took my time prepping, which is the part that is a pain in the ass!

Yep, this is correct, spray paint does not like Gasoline, and many other things.. its very picky about what you spill onto it and will fade very easily.

I haven't had any problems with it, I have spilled gas on the tank, and it didn't eat the paint, and I haven't noticed any fading, it has looked the same since last year when I painted it.

Tires came in yesterday.

They are identical to the 07 and 08s.. The only diff is that lil motor cover you have on the 09.. Which most people take off anyway
