Camping near Streets of Willow?

Heading out there on the 16th. Curious to know if anybody has camped out somewhere near the track. I'm not sure I'd get there early enough on Thursday before the gates close.

Tempted to camp outside the gate, or somewhere in the general area. I'd prefer to find an actual campsite, but there doesn't seem to be any that are close anywhere to the track that are open to tents.

Most people camp outside the gate if they show up after it closes. It's in the middle of the desert so I don't think they have too many actual camp sites in the local area. They have lots of trailer parks though

Ya..I've seen the damn trailer and rv parks. Finding information on camp tent sites that weren't deep in the Angeles National Forest was kind of tough.

Knowing that people have camped outside the gate helps though. Got me an air mattress, sleeping bag and a pop up tent. I'm set.

Tx.
