I'm going to try.

I'm not selling the bike, and I'm staying in NH, so I'll definitely be out there to watch at the very least.

It would be cool to bump into Yellow by the end of Tuesday but It's no big deal to me... As long as I'm on the track...

In six days at this time we will be at the track unloading three bikes, drinking a coffee and waiting for tech to open. Life is good. Stop over and say hello. We'll be the guys unloading a zx14.

Not me. I talked a riding buddy into going. He's got two Vmax and the zx14 and he's 65 and likes to go fast. It should be interesting to see him on the track for the first time. He'll be in the red group with you. Better make that bump early :)

Last trackday at NHMS in June, I was chasing around a guy on a zx10 for a few laps, stupid fast in the straights and would park it going into turn 1, 3, 9 and 12/12a... When I passed him on braking in Turn 1 it felt great.... After the session dude came up to me and goes "damn man I wish I could turn this bike like yours, but i'm afraid of its power. I could keep up with you on the straights but as soon as the turn came you would create a gap on me."

I have a friend who just started TDs . I was following him around for a while then I past him in T6 after that he couldn't keep up with the 600rr with his 1000 even with the power advantage on the straights. I get around the track pretty good (1:28.xxs) but I'm by no means fast.

Great weather in the forecast and still about 10 openings on both days.

Also, for anyone on the fence about doing trackdays... don't forget about our FREE "Try the Track" program.

There's another thread with the details, but basically you get the first session free. It's a guided session with speeds controlled, and is designed to ensure everyone knows the safe way on/off the track, and the proper line.

As for riders on big horsepower bikes that take the corners slow and hammer down the straights, be sure to let your group's instructors know. We stress that if you want to go fast in a straight line only, go to the dragstrip or the highway.

Trackdays are to improve your handling skills! :)

So did you get held up by my friend on the zx. We told him to do a head check when he hit the front straight but he got a little caught up in trying to see how fast be could get that thing going. Sorry about that.
I had a blast. Improved my body position and did a 1:27.2 . I used to drag my knee in every corner now I'm going faster and rarely got my knee down. Great two days

Was he the one with the silver zx?? I saw him out there. My car was actually parked next to his truck. Were you also on a silver RR 05/06 model?....

Yep. That was us. He's looking into a smaller bike for the track. He rides that because its fast and comfortable. How did things go for you? I never did bump to blue. I worked on body position and making clean passes. I was very successful with both even got a tow from Tony for three laps then he disappeared. He makes it look easy

Monday was alright was mostly tired from not sleeping the night before. Tuesday was much better. I tried to work on cleaning my lines since I usually got ahead of everyone and had open track for most of every session. I got a few tow's from Kurt, Gharam, and Jenni. Those guys are insane, especially Gharam! Just when you think you're doing great and keep up with him, he ups the pace and starts to disappear lol.

Idk if you got a chance to see Gino or not but dude is stupid fast on his Hawk. 50 something hp bike that weighs 500+ lbs and hes throwing down 23's on the track. Absolutely insane.

Oh and I already signed up for October. Hope you guys get out there as well. I will be in Yellow/intermediate group at that one.

BTW your friend on the ZX looked good, for such a huge/heavy bike out there. I think he will do much better on smaller bike. SV 650's or any inline 600 will be more than enough for Loudon.

I'm signed up for September in Jersey and one day in October but I'm going to buy the second day. I'm not sure about the other guys but I'm sure I can convince them to sign up since we'll be so close to the end of the season :( . Gino gave me a tow in July. He dose a quick turn off the wall towards t1 so I. Followed suit and it threw me off and I screwed up the turn. Its definitely a better way to do it once you figure it out. See you there. I'll be on the silver 600rr with the silver Dodge truck.

Correct... you want to get off the wall somewhere around the 4 board... and pretty much head right to the corner.

Besides cutting off a bunch of track, this method lets you brake in a straight line and reduces the chance of a crash while trailbraking.

Yes, by the end of the second day I was trying to start turning in where the yellow dotted lines were right after the transition. It was helpful that Jane was in front of me and I got a chance to see I was making some improvements from day one.

I still need to work on turn 2 and 6 the most, but I think if I work a little more on turn 1, it'll help in the transition to 1a and 2. I'll have to follow one of the instructors the next time out.

I'm still on the fence about doing the two days in September. I will keep you guys posted.

His turn in was between the 3 and 4 board which is where I would begin also . He just made a much quicker turn off the wall which put us straight up and down much longer . It just threw me off a bit.

Do it !!! I'm signing up for the other two days in October tonight. Five days of track riding within two weeks. I can't think of a better way to end the season.
