Texas Track Days...Inputs Needed

I'll be moving back to TX next year and will be doing my track days down there.

I've done many NESBA days at tracks here in the North East and 1 in the South.

I've always been able to leave my items sit over night or take off for a while during the day and have NEVER had any problems with theft, etc.

I'm wondering how things are down there due to NESBA not attending those tracks.

What are the days like?

I can usually get a lot of 1 on 1 coaching with NESBA CRs. How is it with the TX orgs CRs.

I feel like I've been spoiled with how smooth and great things have been with the tracks up here in this region.

Inputs welcome.

Your likely to be dissappointed...

Track recomendations would be easier if you told us "where" in Tx. your heading.

Area is yet to be determined; however it will be as close as possible to Abilene until my son graduates.

I’m not the type to stick to one track either. I like to hit as many different tracks as possible depending on the time I have off. I have no problem driving up to 12hrs for a great track weekend. I generally do two days back to back at whatever track I go to.

I know with my current location, within and 8hr radius, I’ve had a lot of tracks to choose from.

I’ve also let people use my tools, etc and likewise with things I may have forgotten at the time. In doing this I’ve never had any problems with me being on the track and them using my stuff and nothing as ever come up missing. I offered it and they let me know they used it.

I’ve heard of some stories but was just looking for input from those that have attended tracks down there.

Within a few hours would be DFW. Eagles canyon and MSRC.

Eagles canyno is fun. Not much runoff and not worth the drive to ride wet. NO garages yet.
MSRC is cool too. Laid out more for cars though. Green early in the day no matter the weather. Bad runoff spots on the new section. NO garages.

Little farther would be TWS. High speed open track. BEtter for litre bikes. Sticky sticky. Garages.

My favorite was up in Ok. Hallett. Rough surface, but easily manageable. Limited garages.

Never made it to the houston area.

THere's supposedly a track here as well. Haven't made it out yet though. My hand hasn't healed from my last encounter with the crap runnoff at MSRC.

Organizations will likely leave you wanting more compared to more professionally run groups. Lonestar typically caters to raceday crowds...and wannabes. Ridesmart is cheaper and slightly less organized of the two. I always liked attending Eurosports events. They are a DFW area euro-shop. Put on a couple events a year, invite only.

Feel free to pm for more input. Also try cnidawg, he recently got the racing bug...prolly attends more regulalrly now. Cheers.

Thanks for the info.

Anyone else.

Hell, I've even thought about leaving my bike up here just so I can take some days off, fly in, hit the track and fly back home.

I like quality over quantity.....

I'm in the Houston area. I see someone mentioned the Dallas area tracks already

Motorsport Ranch Cresson ~ Dallas area (my fav track / counter clockwise is the shiznit)
Eagles Canyon ~ Dallas Area. I'm from Houston so a little elevation is always nice.
Texas World Speedway ~ College Station. Very wide track (very bumpy.. new stuff pops up every month it seems now) Second fav track
Motorsport Ranch Houston (awesome track/ combines some technical with sweepers)

We camp at the tracks usually but when we stay in a hotel our stuff has always been safe. All of the tracks mentioned with the exceptioon of Cresson have a gate that locks at about 10pm. No one in or out.

These are some of the org's that frequent those tracks

You might want to check out the the tracks around here by watching a few YouTube videos at the various tracks mentioned. There are quite a few guys here that run cameras and like to post up the vid's. Most of the tracks also have websites that might give you an idea of what they are like.

Enjoy every minute of life!
