please include me ... but i need to find out if i will BF on db....
Arrow full exhaust (indy) and have the db killer in.
aftermarket air filter ,no intake mods.
exh.seems to be about as loud as stock, not much more.
any info/experience about sound level is welcome.
will try to talk w/someone @ track, I live about 40 miles away.
Any contact info about track marshal (for sound) would be GREATLY appreciated !
you won't blow sound for sure. it's 92 db for motorcycle days
if one does blow sound & they don't have the insert that came w/their pipe, which typically works too. i've also seen soda/beer cans safety wired around the exit point of pipe multiple times, w/smallish hole or multiple even smaller holes. in them. it quiets the exhaust to reasonable/allowable limits, (& is the least expensive method w/out insert that came w/aftermarket pipe) but you still need to be careful cause some times these will also blow off the tip then the next lap around you'll pop on sound if you haven't noticed. that'd be number two & your sitting on the sidelines the rest of the day unless you bring another bike to ride that won't blow sound. period. trackday providers try & be flexible, but once a certain bike has made the offense twice it is off the track for the duration of the day, regardless whether you quiet the bike down or not.
infineon aka sears point is a lot more challenging than laguna, has no sound limitations & just north of the city. it's my favorite
track on the west coast & i've ridden most of them
but it's not the famed 'laguna seca' that has so much history. sears does also have a long following w/motor-sports.
peeps can stay in navato w/fairly reasonable room rates & be @ the track w/in 15 to 20 minutes.
wherever you guys go, i'll try & get there too, merely sharing another idea. due to all the concern regarding the db limitations @ seca.
w/the riders that have gutted their intake.......
there are a number of porous sponge like materials @ various hardware stores that can be placed right in the opening of our intake, that will quiet it down @ least a little. matter of fact, it might be something you want to add to your bike regardless. i've seen this material on more than a few ama bikes/wss/wsbk etc.
reason being is if you aren't careful you can suck too much dirt & debris past the aftermarket filters. if you're really not careful & allow your filter to get really dirty, allowing dirt to get into your system. it will many times blow the motor. if you're really concerned, just put in OEM paper filter cause they are quieter & more efficient w/keeping debris from passing into the airbox.
googled soda can on exhaust tip & was unable to find any images, but there are some out there, cause i've seen them on the net
hope this helps
