Back on track with my new babe

Hello all . I used to have a 04 600 went up to a 2010 1000 and would still like to hang around here. That being said I'm sharing a couple pics from my track day yesterday on the new biatch for the first time

It's a night and day difference. The flickability of the 1k seems loads better over the 600 for me. But that may also be because my experience has gone up along with my ball size haha

Do you think it has anything to do with the difference in years and technology from 04 to 10? I would think it feels better with the advancements made with our machines. You probably wouldn't feel an increase in flickability had you gone from a 10 600rr to a 10 1k... But I am talking out of my a$$ as I've only ridden the 09 600rr.

That's awesome that you're having so much fun... Love your paint job on the track plastics.

I also took that into consideration before I started comparing and the bike overall just feels lighter as a whole. Braking is about the same but I wouldn't put it past the fact that the forks are different. The plastics are actually the stock colors for the 10's. No track plastic here.

Have you ever ridden the 05/06 or 07+ models of the 600rr? There were a few changes from the 04 to 05 biggest difference was the forks. Then in 07 they changed the fairings, and made the bike a few lbs lighter and more mid-range power(gearing).

IMO the difference between the 07+ 600rr and the 08+ 1krr is weight(just a few lbs) and power. Other than that they should feel relatively the same.

Looking good out there. What track org were you riding with?

Speaking of handling differences, I have both an 09 600rr and and 09 1000rr, and can offer a comparo. I feel that while there is a relatively small weight difference between the two, it is easier for me to hang off the 600. 30 pounds may not sounds like much, but the 1k's tank is also considerably wider up front, both of which combine (in my mind, at least) to make the 1000rr slightly less nimble.

None of us here are Casey Stoner or Ben Spies, so we wouldn't be pushing these bikes to their absolute limits anyways

Stupid question here I'm sure. I've never done a track day before but what are the pink/ red dots in the middle of all the windscreens?

OP,

Was the tape difficult to get off your lights? Did it leave the residue? Next time, disconnect the lights. That paint scheme is my favorite of all.

Blue painters tape, never leaves any residue. At least not the kind I get.
