wacky fuel gauge?

Hi I also posted this over in maintenance but I thought since we trackpeople crash more and fix our own bikes I'd ask here also. After a recent crash my fuel gauge is all wacked out. it does a pattern where it divides in the middle and the bars appear to move from the middle out to the topp and bottom. I doubt it is a code or anything but has this happend to any of you and if so is there some way to fix it? thanks tim

ok read the manual stupid.. I probably messed up or bent the fuel sensor in the crash. I'd need to replace it but I think I'll just put a piece of tape over it and check gas the old fashioned way with a match and eyeball. Maybe if I mak the bike pretty over the winter I'll pull out the pump and fix it .. pump seems fine. If anyone knows anything else please let me know. thanks tim
