What kind of Pucks do you use?

Doin some research so you answers really help out. What kind of pucks does everyone use?

I use these ones from AGV that are kinda like the Vanson ones but I hear they are discontinuing them. Been tempted for a while to try some leather ones.

I have used the joe Rocket ones, Teknic ones and currently I have some paisley shaped ones made by BTK (called Nuke-only ones they had at Ridersinc when I needed them). I didnt like any of these particulary, esp the Nukes. Poorly made.

I dont know what brand they are but I see lots of people using ones that are square and about 1.5-2 inches thick. I heard they werent made anymore. They look no nonsense utilitarian. I'd use those. Nothing fancy as long as it gets the job done and dont fall apart.

The pucks that are square and are about 2in thick are called Trak-pads and yes they are the ones to have they last a long time and feel great. I have also found that motonation.com have these pucks that are made by Sidi that are made of the same ceramic that they use on there toe sliders. The pucks have a backing plate and the ceramic part is replaceable, the pucks are about $50 for a full set and the replacement ceramic pucks are only $25, and we all know that a good set of pucks usually cost more than $25. I have not tried a set yet but they look pretty sweet and they are my next set.

It's a feel thing IMO. If you like semi-soft and grippy, I'd go with stock Taichi sliders. On the hard side the klucky pucks are good... too hard for my worn out knees, though.

I have a set of TPM leather pucks (un-used), they are yours for $20.

If I were to buy new pucks I'd go with Klucky or Trak Pads, I think they were the faves in the RRW shootout a while back.

Honestly, I feel about knee pucks as I do about shoe laces: I only notice them when there is a problem. As for material, I use whatever plastic ones are the cheapest.

I have found that with cheap pucks you get what you pay for. I bought several sets of the $20 ones on ebay with samuel jackson with his gun from pulp fiction and another pair with a stripper on her knees, and they sucked. They were cheap and they were toast by the end of the day.

The only pucks that are cheap and last are the AGV ones, but like I said, I'm pretty sure they are being discontinued.

I really like the Vanson. They are hard though. It isn't a problem for me though because I usually tap the slider to figure out where I am and then pick my knee up. Mike
