Michelin pilot sport track use

Quick question for some of you track riders. Im going to a local track next month and have the stock michelin pilot sport's on my RR. (only had the bike for a month) Im debating on buying the pilot powers or leaving the sports on for the trackday.
Anyone ever use the sports on the track before?

I will end up rideing fairly hard at the track and am currently easily off the edges of the pilot sports in the rear, but no dragging knees or anything like that. (to give you guys an idea of the pace I am at)

What do you guys think?

You will be fine with them if its your first day. IMO you're not going fast enough to justify new rubber. As long as you have 75% of tire life left (what my local track organizers look for) you'll be fine. Adjust your pressure to track pressures rather than street pressures.

Yep, I've run the stock Sports on two trackdays now and they've been fine. Admittedly Kyalami is not a very abrasive track, but they held up very well. I'm going to be running them at Phakisa on the 16th which will probably finish them off. Then it's time for Powers, baby!! ;)
