How Many Times have you been down?

I was Curious to see how many times you guys have been down(crashed) on the track?

Me: Once @ BUTTONWILLOW, turn 4 up and over the hill:evil1: . I was going faster and faster, until the last Session of the day. thats when I pitched it away in 110 degree heat... ya that sucked more than the crash:icon_lol:

Once...turn 1 Mid-Ohio. Track wasn't as dry as I thought it was.
I was lucky enough to get a good photo of it too.

Four in 6 years of racing, Twice at Summit Point and Twice at at the AMA race at VIR this year. Once friday morning in practice (cold track) and then during the Supersport race (bad start and pushing hard to move up through the pack, made it up to 16th then crashed) Not a great weekend.

Five times. One last year and four this year...

First - Hallett T1 (CW) - lowside - slide - no injuries
Tried to pass a guy on the outside. He drifted wide during corner entry, and I had no where to go but in the dirt.

Second - Hallett T10 (CCW) - highside - slide - brused tailbone
First time on Michelin Race tires. It was cold and damp, and I kicked out the rear tire coming out of the turn. (Side note: this happened in the same turn as my first crash)

Thrid - Texas World T4 - lowside - slide - sprained ankle
I was following an expert rider going into the turn. He lowsided in front of me, and I crashed after ramping over his front tire.

Fourth - Barber T9 - highside (i think) - tumble - no injuries
I was trying to pass a guy on the inside but set it up wrong. He turned into me and shot me into the weeds.

Fifth - Oak Hill T7 - highside - tumble - brused ribs, broken thumb, and sprained ankle
My chain broke during the exit of the turn. In turn locking up my rear wheel, and highsiding me into tomorrow...

Twice.

1. VIR (in May or June) for one of the WERA Mid-Atlantic race weekends. It was the 600cc Superstock race on Sunday I believe. Anywhoo I was late braking this guy coming into T7, I was on the outside (left). As I was passing him on the brakes he actually drifted left to go right up the hill. I just held my line (I was already almost off the track as is) and he bumped right into me. I stayed up and passed him. As I went to hit the brakes again into the turn I noticed I didn't have any brakes anymore. I tried to take the turn anyways and went off.

He had clipped one of my brake lines when he hit me.

2. Track day at CMP..............tires were old and the front ended up tucking on me in T1. No warning and there was nothing I could do to have prevented it.

2 this year
1 - WSIR 2/05 - turn 3 - following my friend MONKS01 (on this board) too close then he had to brake hard coz of traffic into t3 - had to change my lines - went too far to the left side of the track - hit the red/white stripes, rear tire slid off... stopped in the middle of the track and almost got ran over by an rc51 - had to roll myself to the dirt
2 - streets of willow 9/05 - t2 - feeling good about the track - never felt good on this track before - going faster and faster (in my opinion, of course) - then trying to late brake from t1 to t2 - then front end tucked underneath me...

Lots!

Like well over 30, when I was doing full seasons of racing (7 years in total) - daft ones early on as I got to grips with racing my RGV250, them more as I got the hang of it. Didn't have tyre warmers back then and we weren't allowed wets so it was Mich Hi-Sports in all weathers. The crashes continued when I switched to GP125's but got a lot less frequent. I've never crashed on a trackday, did my last full race season in 1999 and not been off since then. Don't think I'm as crashable as I used to be.

I never got seriously hurt, was knocked out twice, done the ligaments in my shoulder and the worst was a little finger injury that needed a skin and tendon graft.

Got it pretty sussed now, I had my R6 for 6 years and never had an off and plan to do the same with the RR.

Once, turn 5 on VIR North. I was pushing myself, following a CR after a long break and long work weekend. I should have called it a day after the 1.5 hr break due to two crashing earlier that afternoon (not involving me).

Five good ones and a few minor. First ever was Texas World T3 durring a race. Got by a guy on a gixer 1K and went in too hot. Totalled an F4i but unhurt. Only real injury was at Cresson last March. Went off in big bend and high sided into a broken collar bone. Got a pic of one at Oakhill T2 last season, I'm the one running to get off track...

Ya, that was my first time at Cresson. That sucker got me at the line by 0.005 seconds. If only he didn't have 400 ccs on me. Gonna miss the banquet as it is like a million miles for me. I'd love to make it to MSR Houston sometime, I saw your video of Mike you posted. It looks like a great time.

Twice, both at Nashville. First one was a low speed slide during the track day before the race weekend. It was my first time down on pavement. I was actually kinda glad to get that over with, wasn't bad at all. The next time was the following day during a race. Someone plowed into me just before turn one at the start of the race. I was nearly at the top of the banking before I understood what was happening. I didn't enjoy that one!!

None yet. But only been to 3 track days. I'll do a lot more next year so odds are, it's gonna happen. It did do a little dirt biking when I went in too fast in turn 3 at VIR though.

After a year of track days and two years of racing I've crashed 3 times... Once was the first day with track bodywork on the 600rr, tried to pass someone outside mid corner, started pass too late and got out onto the marbles while still cranked.. my ankle still hurts from that crash and it was 2004...

Second crash was caused by dragging vortex frame slider too hard into a turn and it picked th ebike right up.. no injury..

Third, I was clipped goin into a corner, 2nd last lap of the race, came down head first and knocked out.. supposedly I was lying face down and motionless in the middle of the track, they obviously redflagged... I don't remember anything except what I was told, being knocked out made me ragdoll though so thankfully I didn't break any bones..

I'm hoping there's no more as crashing is way too pricey =]
