new track bike set up

Here are some picture of my newly acquired turn key (actually keyless) track day set up. It's a 2005 cbr600rr and a foldable trailer.

Here are some specs:

Armour bodies superbike fairings.

Arrow, full titanium exhaust system

aftermarket slipper clutch (yoyodyne)

Ohlins rear shock

upgraded fork internals

Scotts steering stabilizer

cortex rear sets

woodcraft sliders

woodcraft lever guard

zero gravity double bubble

power commander

Dynajet quickshifter

clip ons

updated front brake

master cylinder from 2013 cbr600rr

upgraded levers

front and rear speed bleeders

fully safety wired

and a ton of spares.

Trailer includes a pitbull trs (best loading system Ive ever tried)

Looks sweet! I'm running a very similar setup on the track, it's a great bike. Make sure to get the suspension set up for you, makes a big difference. I really have to get a slipper for mine though, I got used to it on my Ducati and it's definitely a good safety and speed feature.

Yeah i cant wait......First track day on it at July 20th at Fontana speedway in SoCal. It has GP shifting on it, something im not used to, so its gonna take a bit of warming up in to it a few laps for sure. I'm sure in a panic situation my body would react right in to "regular" gearing.

I also got used to a great slipper clutch and up and down quickshifter tracking my 18 gsxr1000r. Its a beast, but I still owe money on it, hence I decided a dedicated track bike was in order:)......Still use the suzuki for canyon runs on the weekends.

The guy I bought it from said the slipper is so good, no rev matching is needed.

ive done track days before at Fontana. I signed up for the C group as I never have ridden this bike more than up and down a street. I'm also have zero practice with GP shifting.

I'm on the east coast, I ride in the "advanced" group (out of: beginner, intermediate, advanced, expert) with my track organization (Tony's Track Days). I am confident that if I improve my riding skills this bike will hang easily with the expert riders.

You won't have any trouble with GP shift... the times you need to rapidly shift in a panic situation are slim and it doesn't take long to set your brain for it. It's also better in just about every way! Out of curiosity, can you snap me a picture of your clutch linkage? I want to switch mine to GP but it doesn't seem like I have the space to flip the linkage the other way, which is the super easy way of switching to GP.

Hey wetzel. I just snapped this from the garage. I hope it helps. Yeah I am SO fuggin stoked. Can not wait to take it out. The guy I bought it from raced it as a tripple cripple and tracked it as a 600. He was in the middle of the A group pace and easily kept up with most bikes he said. As usual its more about the rider than the bike.

can you get a closeup of the lever that attaches to the gearshift spindle? I'm not sure what the best orientation is... figured I'll just play around with it until it feels right but at least I could have a starting point :-P

Sorry, working like crazy on a TV show. Which side is the side thats the gearshift spindle is on? (English is not my first language) and Im not very technically oriented, I only ride bikes:). Let me know and I'll snap a photo when I get a chance.

No problem! I'm in no rush :-)

The lever I mentioned is at the end of the linkage. The spindle is the part that goes into the bike and actually operates the transmission.
