Power Commander Questions

Ok, just ordered my arrow headers to mate up to my Akrapovic slip-on. i'm thinking i need a PC3 now to tie everything together properly.

Questions:

1. Where's the best place to get a PC3 for 08RR?
2. How hard is the install?
3. Is there a write-up done or a how-to on the install of one for an 08?

Now as far as custom mapping / tuning..

1. Do i just install the PC3 and i'm good to go?
2. Anyone know of any custom tuners in the central NJ area?

Thanks for the help guys. I never understood this power commander stuff. i did some reading up on it, but i like to hear more stuff about it.

Fuel Moto - www.fuelmotousa.com

The install is fairly easy. Every thing just plugs in. Just remember to attach the harness to the lower injectors not the uppers.(i sure every one that doesn't read the direction has made that mistake) Then get a fuel map from dynojets website, upload to the PC3 via USB. Thats it! I think it took me about 2hours, thats taking all the plastic off, installing pc3 and then reinstalling plastic

At some point you may want to have a custom map made for your bike.

or you can always go the more interesting route and get a bazzaz with a self mapper and have your bike tuned on the fly for you at all times ;)

How significate is it to run a PC or Bazza with just a slip on? Most manufactures state that their slip ons work with stock fuel settings and has anyone experience any negative performance with just a slip on? looking at Leo Vince SBK ECOII and liking it

I have the PC V and Autotune on my 08. Let me tell you... should have gotten the Bazzazzzzzzz......Don't get me wrong, it works but having Bazzazz tune on the fly is much more useful imo.

info is backwards the bazzaz does not tune on-the-fly, but the powercommander does.

yea i was about to say.. the PCV with autotuner tunes on the fly..

and for where to go for a PCV.. HardRacing all the way.. great service, fast shipping and best prices I could find. They even have a deal on the autotuner if u buy the PCV and Autotuner at the same time.

depends on what you mean by plug and go. first make sure you put the pc on the lower injectors and not the upper ones. also make sure you have the proper map downloaded into the pc3.

Do you download the map before it is installed? or after?

And there's no map on their website for Arrow headers and an Akra slip-on. What do i do for that?
