Yosh slip on.... extremely loud?

I find that my rs-5 is extremely loud compared to other slip ons, is this normal? or is it because it needs to be re-packed? Also, how bad is it to run the bike before re-packing the muffler if thats what it needs?

Ah I think it just a yosh being a yosh they do tend to be on the louder side compared to others they are the loudest but in the loud spectrum. As far as re-packing it will not hurt the bike any without re-packing it if thats what its needs all the packing does is muffle the noise does nothing for the engine.

Nope, my yosh is very deep. Infact its like comparing a v6 to v8 when you are comparing stock to the yosh I find.

if an exhaust is getting old, the packing will tend to wear out and need replaced, running your bike with old packing isn't a bad thing, the packing simply reduces noise.

now i hear the more packing increases noise. because a highly packed pipe will allow air to flow right by, unlike a lightly packed pipe, the air will slip through the packing making air become trapped and slow down.

mine is loud as hell, and I love it, have to wear earplugs though on the track, and high revs it gets unbearable!

I hear they are quiet for the first few 1,000 miles. After that they are raspy high pitched. I love my RT-1 though!! Except it can be far too loud!

Didnt realize how loud mine was until I rode behind my bike on a buddy's R6 (w/ yosh pipe) and my other buddy's ducati monster. My 600rr was WAY louder. I love it. A little bit raspier than I would like..but above 10k rpm it sings a beautiful song. Overall I would still say it has a deep tone. It sometimes sets off car alarms at low rpms.

Still looking for a deal on Gold or Blk rims! PM me!
