Why do you like LEO VINCE, AKRAPOVIC, or YOSHIMURA exhausts???

Just curious as to why fellow riders crave these exhaust so much???

Is it the:

Price?

Style?

Exhaust Note?

Power?

Well my personal number 1s are SATO and ARATA.

I've seen and heard those exhausts they are the best to me.

Every yohi and two brother's exhaust I've heard are either loud and annoying or loud and raspy.

I chose the Leo based on exhaust note and style. Only installed it the other day & havn't been for a ride yet as the bikes still apart doing other mods but so far I'm happy with my choice.

It looks good. That looks like a targa FE.

Yup, Targa FE. I had to modify it a little bit as the FE and slipon have the same mounting points to the bike and I couldn't get them both on. So I just chopped off the top bits of the FE brackets, bent it a bit more and bolted it onto the slipon bracket.

I would have loved to go with an Tripage / integrated taillight style but I just know I'd constantly be getting pulled up and defected for that over here.

It's good that you didn't go with the Tripage because they don't fit snug under the tail and there is a little gap as well.

Also, some cops and states have issues with it and can ticket you because they don't "physically" see a turn signals on the rear of your bike.

Yeah, it's stupid, but it happens.

I have an akrapovic that I got used for super cheap when I got my bike. I liked the look and sound of it and I seem to remember that there really weren't THAT many aftermarket exhausts for my bike at the time.

If I had to do it all over again my first choice would be a used Akro, partially just because it's something I am familiar with but also because I really do love it. My second choice would be Arata and I can tell you it would almost be a toss-up. It would just come down to finding one for a good price (in relation to MSRP, not each other.)

had the rs5 on my 07 then it was stolen so i got a 09 and got a good deal on a akrapovic, both slip ons....the akra seemed to sound just like factory so i went back to a yoshi rs5 and sold the akrapovic....much happier with the sound and overall look...and the yoshi is much more cost friendly....but to each his own.

The Akrapovic seems more expensive I guess due to where their made? Slovenian hand made. They do run a little cheaper over in the Euro area. Its like the two bros to them. Only wayyyy better. Akra is def my next pipe for my new bike!!

where can I find an Arata exhaust for the '07? I've checked a bunch of sites and I am having trouble finding anything.

I had a Yoshi RS-5 on my '04 and I really liked the sound, but for my '07 I am going a different route. The Yoshi is by far the cheapest pipe and there has to be some reason for that. I'm assuming you get what you pay for, so I am moving on. The Jardine Dual Outlet and the Akra have appealed to me the most based on looks and what I have read about them on this site. I have heard a lot about the Arata, but I can't seem to find an online vendor that can give me substantial info on the pipe.

I just don't get people buying pipes (more so systems) that sound good or look nice. LOL You're trying to get the most power from your bike, lose the most weight etc are you not? For the 600RR's you can't go past Arata, Sato, Akra, Leo or Arrow. (from the major brands) Anything else is just noise to me. May as well just drill holes in the plate in the stock pipe, but that's me.

i had a 07 and put the yoshi rs5 on becouse of the price and style...im never gonna utilize every horse on the bike anyway as it a daily bike not a track bike. but the 07 was stolen and i got a 09 and put the Akra on it as it was a sweet deal and i have about so many on here spooging in the pants for one so i got it....it was over priced and just as quite as the stock muffler...so i took it off and sold it and went back to the rs5... as i said i dont do tracks but would love to so i dont need every horse or to worry about weight....the best way it could take weight off my bike would be to go on a diet....lol... but everyone has there preferance for there own reasons....

I completely agree with you, but the "majority" of sportbike riders don't ride their bike for the sport, they ride the bike to look cool and just go fast in a straight line.....and that's a fact.

Mainly, they want a pipe that looks cool and sounds cool and could care less about hp or weight because they don't care about "track days" and would never participate in one anyways. Hell, I think the "track" is like "kryptonite" to a squid.

It's sad to say, but that's just how it is.

I bought a full yoshimura system for my 07. I like the way that it looks and sounds. and i got it for under $800. I think that i picked yoshimura over all the others was price. friend of mine said that yoshimura was also a great exhaust for performance. i have to agree. i did pick up some extra ponies from it and saved about 12 lbs of weight. i'm hoping that once i match it with a PCV and get it tuned, it'll make good overall power. i'll keep ya'll posted.
