Exhaust Heat tape.. YES or NO

Hi guys,
I just purchased a Yoshi rs-5 for my 09 but i dont like the "chrome" tail pipe. its just far to "blingy" on my bike.

I have no chrome/silver/grey on my bike its all black and red and i feel the chrome is out of place on my bike. (PS I have no heat sheld on my pipe because it looked ugly.)

So i thought about wrapping the pipe in black heat tape/wrap.
I have no experience with heat tape, and no idea what consequences my bike might face. I only plan on wrapping the pipe from the cat back so the headers and cat would not be covered, Just the tail pipe.

I have herd if it gets damp it can rust the pipe.

Can any one give me a heads up on what i should look for or look out for or Pros and Cons?

unless you have a pipe that will 100% not rust, or your in a really dry part of the country, id say stay away from it.

Good idea, i was also thinking of powdercoat if they do hi temp but i really like the look of heat wrap, i just dont want it to fk my bike but from what i have been reading it should be fine as long as the pipe isent titanium.

right as long as its not titanium just wrap it, if you live in a wet part of the country, after 6 months take it off, polish the pipe and re-wrap here is a pic that might make you just go out there and do this!
