question about yoshi rs-5

Hi, I have a question about the cone end cap about yoshi rs-5 exhaust?
I got my bike with yoshi rs-5 installed. And when I compare mine to my friend's rs-5, they look a bit different at the tip. Mine looks like the dolphin tip but his has a "cone end cap" (i think it's how to call).

I am just wondering whether there are two models of rs-5? since both of ours are stainless-steel slip-on. can mine have that cone end cap also?

Thanks.

I've heard that Yoshi recently switched cap ends on RS5 exhausts. They use to be a slot type, now they are sending out round ends. Don't know about switching them out though.

I bought my stainless RS-5 slip-on about 6 months ago but it came with a carbon cone tip. I believe they switched end caps on them.

I am thinking about buying one for my 03 and I looked at the site that shuwa provided here... www.indysuperbike.com .....this one I notice has a newer version exhaust end. This is more expensive. $659.95 for the full exhaust ($90 more for carbon fiber)....Also shipping is not free :(

I am not going to tell you yet about the other site I found but will tell you that the same exact exhaust that the OP posted the picture is 478.95 with free shipping. Also this is the full system!

To answer the OP's question, I believe yours is the older version of the rs-5.

I just bought a an RS-5 from store.58cycle and it appears to be the old end tip. Does anybody know if there are any difference in sound other than the look. I am thinking of returning it to get the newer end cap.
I have searched the internet and I can't seem to find what the differences are. One note the one I got cost $243 the newer version costs $323 so I am assuming the change more than just the end cap right?

Although, I am not going to trust youtube. I am going to the bike charity show on sunday and hear what the other bikes' exhausts sounds like in person. My buddy at work has a yoshimura on his gsx600 and thing roars....

Thanks nshortri let us know what you find out. In the meantime I am going to try and return mine and get the newer version end cap. I think the newer ones have a deeper sound to them.

the turn down version has an optional cone you can bolt onto it so it makes it look differant than the version with the cone permanently attached.

Right on Yoshi's site, they have the 2 ends pictured side by side.

http://www.yoshimura-rd.com/s-887-prod.aspx

I forget now where I read it, but the performance differences is very minor in favor of the round end.
