Exhaust wrap questions

For those of you who have wrapped their exhaust I have some questions. I not so concerned with the performance of it as I am the radiant heat factor. I am finding that my plastic and gear are melting because of contact on the exhaust.

1. What brand of exhaust tape is reccomended (if it matters)
2. How many feet do you need?
3. Which is better...0.25% or 0.50% overlap?
4. Is the protective spray necessary?

Thanks

25 percent do nice clean strong pulls to get it nice and tight. If you arent using lava/titanium wrap soak the wrap for a few hours. This allows it to streach more and when it dries the wrap shrinks and dries to its position.

For all 4 headers plus other areas atleast 40 feet. Be sure to get 2 inch wide. 15-20 feet for the headers to the merge. Rest is for the merge on.

I like DEI titanium wrap from advanced auto. No need to seal it and looks nice.

Looking to do exactly as op stated. What factors should be considered when choosing a wrap? Op did you notice a difference?
