Bricked my power commander

i hAd to update the firmware and I did it using the bike power and not the 9V connection. Now my power commander will not turn on. I need the 9V connection (which may or may not work according to dynojet) or a PC Programmer, which the stealership wants 40 bucks to hook it up and put firmware on it (less than a minute of work) Is there anyone on here in the Southeastern WI area that can be help out and bring a 9V connection to West Bend?

Can anyone explain why this happens? Im just curious as to why you can run it off bike power when switching maps, but not for firmware.

you could try sending a PM to Rozenheimer. He's over in that area and has a PCV, he might have the pc programmer or 9v connection that you could borrow

What do you do when you get the pc programmer? Did your power commander light up at all before you plugged it in? I used to get the message device found error device not communicating. now I get nothing.

Could try going to one of your local dynojet dealers and see if they have what you need.

Looks like these 3 are closest to West Bend

It was years ago that it happened to me, I dont remember exactly what was going on with the PC3. I do remember getting an error message at one point. I had the 9v connector and that didnt work.

I called local shops and like you said they wanted 40-60 bucks to reboot the PC if they had it. Most had no idea what I was talking about. I called one local HD tuning shop who said he had it and didnt mind doing it for free. When I got there he said "Oh I dont work on those kinds of bikes". After an argument with him that lead to him calling the cops I just went back home and ordered it. It has since unbricked 4 other local PCs so to me it has served its purpose.

Mid Cities is out of buisness, Glen Curtis is now Fuel powersports and they cant help. Everyone there is pretty worthless except Glen who still works there. They are very local to me, lots of horror stories out of there too. And I haven't called Mikes yet, interested to see his answer he is usually a pretty good guy to work with. I did call Cedar Creek and they can help me, but they want the whole bike there and 40 bucks which to me doesn't sound worth it. My buddy found a 9V connection, he is bringing it over soon. Fingers crossed that it works.

If it doesnt work and you dont want to buy a programmer maybe we can work something out where I ship you mine and you promise to ship it back to me? Maybe quicker to buy one but maybe save you a few bucks? I dunno, sucks your not local and cant just use mine, it seriously takes like 10 minutes.

And whoever is posting for dynojet, you need to update your dealer list, not many people around here are in business anymore.

If you HAVE to go there, talk to Glenn and Glenn only. He is the only one there that can get you what you need without the bs and run around. Dont even bother with service there. Do it yourself or go elsewhere.

not everybody has a land line anymore, thus that couldn't work. Most people use their cell phones only and you can't get an address from a cell phone
