straight pipe question.

I've heard straight pipe can mess your bike up. i own an 08 right now but i had an 09 with a basically straight pipe set up and it ran a little rich but nothing more. I'm just wondering if its true that the straight pipe can hurt anything. any info is helpful thank you.

if you had a straight through pipe it will run lean, not rich.

yea I had planned to get it tuned but I decided against the side pipe as I just couldn't get it quiet enough even with a baffle to tolerate for my long 1hr commute to work everyday. so I ordered a TOCE. yes I know its loud to but its not as bad as an open shorty side pipe
