Removing the Exhaust can...

I have taken off my entire midpipe and the cancan and also attempted to beat the can off with a rubber mallet, as well as trying to twist the can off. I was able to get the can to twist a little bit, but not even near a full 180 degrees. The reason i want to get the can off is so that i can make a shorty exhaust, but I just cannot get the exhaust can off. Any ideas? I don't want to beat the can too hard and dent it up. Thanks for the help guys!

it's probably corroded onto the midpipe. Spray some penetrating oil on it and let it sit for a while and try again

That was my best guess. It is a 2005 and the exhaust has been on since 07 so that is probably it. I'll let you know how that goes!
