Yosh RS5 silencer

I firmly belive that while loud pipes save lives, they also attract tickets.

I just bought a 03rr with a yoshimura rs5 slipon and its ******* loud. What are your experiences with using the siliencer? I know it wont be as quiet as stock but how much of a difference does it make, I dont know what 99db sounds like.

I basically dont want to wake the neighborhood when I leave for work at 4 am and I would like to get up to at least 10k without unleashing hell on everyones ears.

How old is the can? It could be due a repack which will help with the noise.

I had to replace my RS-5 with the stock can on my 05 - the reverbs at highway speed passed right through my earplugs and bothered me all the time. Besides that, I didn't think it was particularly loud, as long as you stayed under 8 grand.

I've just re packed mine. It's an easy job.

Yoshi recommend 7000-10000 miles between repacks. See the link to there site below which includes a video of how to do the job.

Also, do you have the removable baffle/db killer installed?

I'll be keeping it in case I need it to conform to track db limits. I'm sure yoshi sell them though.

its more than likely due for a re-pack with those kind of miles, plus yoshimura isnt known for having super loud exhaust
