What are you guys paying for custom mapping?

Well... I got the arata full system on my '04 gixxer a couple of weeks back. I have to say, the bike runs great and pulls harder with it on, I am not noticing any flat spots, but the idle is a little less than I'd like to see.

I simply used the map on the power commander site, and I'd like to have it custom mapped to see what I can squeeze out of this titanium goodness.

I found one shop in my area that has the tuning link software, and they want $395 to have my bike custom mapped. That seems outrageous, as I don't even know what kind of experience they have with bikes, they're certainly not tuning racebikes or anything like that...

Just out of curiosity, what are you guys finding for rates, is this asking price legitament?

Is this a dynotuning rate...? I know that I, and everyone else I know, tune by the hour. I charge $150/Hr to tune on the dyno, so I guess if they're telling you that it's gonna take nearly 2.5hrs to dial in the A/F, lol...well, that's ammusing. I've tuned cars with NO base map, using the AEM, and done it in 2hrs...and the AEM is so far more advanced than the PC3, it's not even funny! Prices usually change a little every now and then, like I'll tune for $100-$125/Hr, but $150 is pretty consistent. I just don't see how it could take over an hour or so, to tune A/F....especially with a base map! I need to go get a bike dyno and stick it next to the other dynojet in the shop, if this is what shops are really charging! LOL. $150-$200 sounds more like it, but w/e. What's the cheapest anyone has paid on here? I'm curious...

LOL,
I was actually quoted $450, but $395 if I were to bring people along. That's just insanity.

Thumbs up

Hey ME2 call Solid Performance here in Fargo, they quoted me in the upper 200s then I told him I had an RR and he said 350 max. Nice thing is is my friend is good friends with the owners brother so were gonna go in there after hours one night and once I get my PC hopefully I can get it done for free! But just give them a call i know it is definitely not 400 dollars. Snap.
