Leo Vince broke or broke in

Whats going on guys. I went out for a 100 mile ride out to montauk on Long Island with a group of people. i installed my leo vince slip on last week and it sounds like butter. On the way back from the trip everyone else and myslelf noticed my bike sounded even louder. Dont get me wrong it still sounds sweet but it is hella loud now. Is it normal for the pipe to get louder after a few heat cycles i have also notice normal discoloring on the pipes but i think it looks even better now!

That is normal. Most exhausts get louder as they break in. It shouldnt be MUCH louder tho, just a few db's. If its gotten a lot louder then check for loose bolts at the connecting sections.

Everyday above ground is a good day.

I would check to make sure nothing has come undone. in 100 miles it wont get louder from breaking in. more likely something came undone or wasnt tightened enough (for the vibrations).

If the packing isn't coming out of the end-cap or the pipe isn't falling apart you're fine. All pipes will get marginally louder once they are heat cycled. The pipe discoloration is normal also. Ride and smile!

the key to earplugs is you must wear them consistantly. :)

Leo's will SCREAM at high revs - best sounding exhaust I've ever heard on a 600RR.

yeah, it's normal, due to the packing being compacted and the sound is being absorbed as much as loose packing does. I've repacked a couple slip-ons and found the looser I packed them, the quieter they were and vice versa. The tighter packing made them a bit louder. so long as there is no packing flying out the back end, you're okay; if so, then the packing is breaking down and will get louder, till it is re-packed. since you stated it's new, then there is no need to repack for a couple thousand miles or so... or till said symptoms occur...

I've tried to explain that to people before. It's the amount of AIR pockets that are in the can that absorb the sound. Too much packing or too little packing will make the pipe louder.
