ECU's and part numbers....

O.K first off I am new here so Hello from me :icon_salu

Now down to my problem.
I have just got a salvage 2/04 600RR but it came with no keys and this is a problem over here in Australia as we are still stuck with the retarded (no offence if your a retard) H.I.S.S on our RRs so the ECU is now a paper weight..
Honda know this all very well and charge like a well you know what for a new ECM ($1,250 ozzie pasos) then they will supply blank keys at $40 a pop and just in case your not crying enough and still have the smallest amount of selfrespect left they charge you $250 to program your blank keys that still have to be cut to fit your key barrels on the bike....To this all I have to say to Honda Australia is a big go @#$% yourself buddy....
This is where you guys come in.The U.S spec 600RR has got no H.I.S.S on it so I figure if I just get a 2nd hand U.S spec ECM and maybe front wire loom I should be sweet and not have to take Hondas B.S
The Ozzie PGM-FI unit part number is:38770-MEE-652
And and Far as I can see the non H.I.S.S PGM-FI part number is:
38770-MEE-672
Can any of you guys tell me if I am on the right track with this.
Thanks in advance guys.
well aslong as I am online here is a pic of the bike :)

No mate they dont want a bar of it.
Think I will just get a non-HISS unit from the U.S
Seems like no U.S guys here are any help (because its hard to take the 6 bolts out?) So I will just take a punt and get a U.S see how I go..

Mate, I'd check if you need the US loom to go with the ECU - very possible there are differences that match up with the HISS/non HISS ECU's.

Well done searching mate, but he hasn't been on here since July 2006 so I think you may be waiting a while for a reply...

As I said yesterday, I think it will just plug in and go. Up to you to have a shot at it...

You can also remove the HISS by reprogramming one of the EEPROMs in the ECU...

That would indicate a fault with it. It will only light for a little while after you shut the bike down, after a while the light turns off.

Check the continuity of the pickup coil and its harness down to the ecu.
