World's most inaccurate dyno...

A local dealer(the one I've bought all my bike form since moving to AZ) had an open house this weekend so my roomate and I went to check it out. Well they had a mobile dyno from another shop there and since I haven't put my 600 on one yet figured I give it a shot. What a joke. This dyno has to be without a doubt the most inaccurate I have ever seen. You guys ready to laugh, I know I did..............140.4HP.

Well that was gotta be with a D&D exhaust, ya know they will make 150HP so that is really kinda a low number. ;)

What's really funny is how these guys believe that it's possible. I don't even think the Formula Extreme bikes are putting out that kind of number.

They're in denial. Maybe they don't have the dyno configured properly?

I agree man, that is pretty sad that people who own the dyno would not think something was up at that point.

what correction factor did they use on your graph? and if yours says 140, the FX bikes would say 175h.p, and that is the point. Number on it's own means Jack, it's all relative to comparisons on the same bike, same dyno.

Still, you'll make lots of clowns jaws drop when you show them the graph. haha

The roomates 954 put down 148(with just a slip-on and no PC), so I can safely say that the dyno is a P.O.S and/or they have no idea what the heck they are doing.

And this is what I was saying in the D&D thread. For the guy with the Akra system, he could take it to this guy, get a read out of 130 and post "Akra is far better than the D&D pipe, cop this". Haha I'd laugh just as much. The figure doesn't matter, it's only the before and after figures after mods etc that you should concern yourself with. Seriously, any more than that and you're wasting your time

Yep, I think you were one of the three guys that showed up right after they left? A "little" problem is being nice.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe some people like myself don't give a chit what the number is? I did it cause my roomate did and thought what the heck it's only money. I already know that my 600 is plenty capable of beating 1000cc bikes in the quarter mile(proved that the night before), I know my 600 is capable of beating 1000cc bikes around the track on trackdays(proved that many times before). So in the end hp numbers don't mean jack to me. I posted this to let people see how funny it is to have a dyno guy actually think a 600cc bike could make that much power. I mean these guys REALLY thought it was possible. This summer I will be going to the shop that made the map for my 954. Have a few rough spots that need to be smoothed out a bit. I don't know what map is currently in my bike since I got it complete. Of course when they do the map they'll have a dyno printout, and I'm sure it will be cool to see the difference between the current map and the custom, but hp #'s are not what I'm after.

where did you get your bike, maybe they have more fluke output bikes, that will also produce jaw dropping numbers.

Just good friends with the service manager. Most of the employees know me by name cause I have purchased 3 bikes there in the 5 years I have been here. Something to be said for small shops.

I never said you did care, I just pointed out what I was talking about in another thread that was locked by someone so I couldn't post it there to. LOL Take a pill. Of course, doing it coz your mate did it, even though you don't care about the number.............. silly me, I should have known Haha

Well actually it used to be all black. Now it's a multi-colored shitbox. It's gloss black, flat black, and red. Oh can't forget the orange wheel stripes, maybe that's what gave me the numbers.
