First of all welcome WeXeRR to this cool Forum, very soon you will be addicted to it.

I live in Montreal, Canada and I just bought my Yoshimura RS-5 Carbon with End Cad in Carbon. I bought it from IndySuperbike ( www.indysuperbike.com ) in Indianapolis, you can also buy it from MRI ( www.ridersinc.com ) in California. With the USD / CAD exchange rate, it's a better to buy it from the states, pay the taxes and duty charge then buy it in Canada. It takes about 4 days for delivery.

Both place have the same price 430 $ USD, it's the lowest price I found. Even on ebay you won't find a better deal.

You can find more details on why people modify the bracket on this thread :
https://www.600rr.net/vb/showthread.php?t=41006

The main cause is because with the original bracket you will have a gap between the pipe and tail of about 1 inch or more. To improve the look, we cute a part of the can Bracket.

Here's a clip I put together, not the best but it gives you an idea. It was done on my camera's video option.

Sounds good, if you trim the mounting bracket it will fit closer to your tail..

I just installed my new Yosh yesterday and went for a ride even if it was cold.

I love it sound, not too loud at idle and just loud enough when I'm riding. Now at least I can speak to my fellow riders when I'm the red light vs. my old ART Dual Exhaust.

You asked about other suggestions; I also like the Two Brothers M-2 or M-5.

WeXeRR, if you have any problem I'll be glad to help you.

My RS-5 is supposed to come in this weekend so I'll be doing the install then. Regarding the installation, do you take off the heat shield or not? Any other tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

I live in Calgary and I was going to go through the vendors on this site, the price sounds great until you take into account for exchange, shipping, duty, other fees and such. The price wasn't worth the hastle of me ordering it from a US dealer when I can order it locally and not have to worry about any of the shipping and handling hastles.

I got mine for about $650 CND, in less then 3 days. Yeah the CF RS-5 looks pimp but to me the RS-5 is not all that much louder then the stocker. I have heard some loud pipes and the RS-5 is a whisper compared to them.

I am not sure what year your RR is but the brackets on the 03-04 are differnet then the ones on the 05-06. The 03-04 bracket is simple to mod, drill new holes lower on the bracket - you must cut the extra material or else it will push the plastic tray up and you will have a hard time getting everything to fit right again. The 05-06 I believe mount on the sides and since I don't have one its hard for me to say what needs to be done or if it needs to in the first place.

me and my buddy modified the bracket on my yoshi stainless. the reason we did it was because it sits way low off the bottom of the cowel if you just bolt it on. He just measured how much further up we wanted it and drilled a new hole through the bracket. u betr have a nice set of drill bits tho, we ruined his 5/8s and his 3/4 drillin that dang thing !

From what I have been told every vendor is sold out. I ordered mine through MRI at the end of May and have yet to hear word from them. I took the initiative of emailing Yoshimura directly and as of this past Monday morning the guy told me another 4 weeks!! I am so impatient that this is killing me....
