Question D&D Exhaust

I'm in the market for a D&D exhaust system. From what I've read (here on 600rr.net) I can interchange the 03"-04" with the 06" yrs. I'm hoping this is true. Not only is there a price difference, being the 04" is cheaper, but also it's more readily available compared to the 06". Also, I was wondering if any one knows of other places besides More Power Racing where I can compare prices.(for the 06" year.) It seems that all the searching I'm doing is landing me in the same boat. They have the 03" to 04" yr but nothing for the 05"-06" year.

Help a gal out. Thanks!

Sorry, 03/04 exhausts aren't exchangeable with 05/06 exhausts... good luck!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr! I figured as much! akk! Well, sense I can only find 2 www sites that carry the 06" I guess I'm either screwed or I may just have to wait later on in the year. But honestly, I can no longer take my baby sounding like a damn lawn mower! I need exhaust!

I don't know why other people seem to not want to do it, but if you look at my thread.......https://www.600rr.net/vb/showthread.p...poststop.....I fit an 03/04 exhaust on my 06. I can't guarantee that you can do it with all the brands, but, I did it with no problems and just a simple cut and re-weld on the mid section of the pipe where it slips-on to the bikes exhaust. I am pretty confident that if you did buy the 03/04 exhaust and wanted it put on. You could go to any reputable muffler or exhaust shop and they would be able to get the fitment to work. I paid $20 for a guy to shorten my pipe and weld the slip-on tip back on. Then I came home and had the exhaust on in like 30 minutes with no problems at all. The only problem you risk is buying the 03/04 exhaust and it ends up not working at all. I just don't see that happening though. I got mine to fit on the first try. Maybe I'm just lucky...

Just too loud for my taste is all.....My buddy has one on his RR and doesnt like the thing at all. He says it hurts his ears while riding in high rpms, and its hard to talk at lights and such.... And it just seems to scream like a school girl everytime im next to him. Its a great looking pipe though....... Just too loud for my taste.... But to each his own.. cheers....

I had D&D and yeah, I thought it was way too loud. It wasn't just loud at high rpm's, it was loud ALL the time. I don't think mine fit as bad as Visitor Q's though.

???? It looks exactly the same! LOL!!!

I rode for close to 6 hours on my bike on Saturday without any ear plugs, never once did I think the exhaust was too loud.

6 HOURS!

This is the closest I could find to a video clip. I hope it works! http://www.danddexhaust.com/catalog/mpeg/460-41C.mpg Listen to this clip then to the 1000RR clip. I still think it sounds better on the 600! IMHO! Make sure you turn up the sound and I mean all the way up. Heck, every time I need a good orgasm all I need to do is listen to this clip! ha!

thanks man! Holly CRAP those things are freakin loud! I like loud, but not quite that loud I think. I don't know, I need to see one up close. Maybe I would enjoy it more in person! How much does a d&d run for our bikes? Everyone says slip-on's dont add any hp, so if it's just a sound thing, I may end up going a cheaper route rather than bustin my wallet for an Arata, or some other 400+ slip on! If they do add hp, and they're all the same, then it's the same for me. No reason to spend more for the same result. The D&D does sound MEAN at idle though. I LOVE low toned stuff!

Hey I have some video clips of a micron exhaust...perfect growl rom 3-7k and then it screams after that..perfect for turning heads or just enjoying the sound of a sweet smooth exhaust.

Here's a clip of me playing around so you get the point of what it sounds like from a riders view.

D&D is big bucks for our bikes, a costly slip-on for sure... I have seen a few used on here before, maybe keep an eye out for one.?.

Sandman, You still have your D&D for the 2003? I'm running a Micron but like the look and sound of the D&D. I may take it off your hands if the price is right and it's clean.

I looked and all they sell is the slip on for the 00'-01' Kawasuckie, drag packs, and a full system for the other Kawasuckie's. I've actually found a few slip on's on different sites. All range from $661-$871. No matter, I'm getting my D&D no matter the cost. I just wont bother with the full system. There's no need for it, unless I was still carbed.

A full exhaust is not really needed for street riding, however half the stuff we do to our bikes are not.
