friend of mine is buying my akra slip on. changing my can soon any suggestions?

thinking of getting a full system. should i get akra again?
im leaning towards either akra or arata....but any *brand* suggestions would be appreciated thanks!

i will install the akra s/o in my friend's rr just curious do i need to do anything? or just plug it in and im all set? there is no PC. coz someone here told me that i need to tune it etc etc w/o a pc3...i was like wtf what will i tune if the bike doesnt have a pc3.

cheers!

The bike will be fine without tuning it. Just put the slip-on on and fire it up. As for systems to go with. I would say you are right on with Akra and Arata, but you could go Hamaguchi as well.

I've heard quite a few people with Arrow systems that were very happy.

I think there can be some fitment issues with CA bikes though. The last Arrow pipe I had (slip-on) was very well made.

Arata, Sato, Hama, Leo would be the order I'd go, but up to you. What do you want from the system?

thanks for the replies, good point birdman..i don't race and full are kinda expensive. still thinking if i go full or just change my slip on or something and get a pc3 to save some money. for the s/o im thinking if i go arrow or arata. saw the arrow personaly and the craftsmanship is 100% nice imo. havent seen the arata though.

They all sound generally close to each other. Just get whatever pipe you think is the prettiest.

yes you can upgrade, and you should be able to with Akra also. The lead pipe will be different, to fit the stock headers at that end of the pipework, but, in the Arata's case at least, the muffler and muffler end of the lead pipe is the same as the full system, so you swap out the lead pipe, but keep the muffler. If you think the Arrow is crafted well, you'll be facing east, saying 3 hail Mary's and bowing to the Arata when you see it. hahaha

My Q is, if you're trying to save money with all of this, why sell the Akra in the first place? Just get it mapped with the PC and away you go. Waste of money changing the pipe if you ask me.

how much did he pay for your used slip-on? now comes the hard-part, what brand next to choose, kinda disappointed with the Arrow b'coz it had a stainless mid-pipe huh?

go with Arata then it has full Ti midpipe according to the spec sheet, also you might wanna try Moriwaki slip-ons as they come in Rainbow Ti color, they also have them in plain Ti color & a full system too (not the GP replica twin exhaust).

yo pards i guess ill be ordering the arata slip on later. what i liked about the arata and the arrow is you can upgrade ur header w/o buying a full system, but in the arrow's case the mid pipe is stainless :( he bought my akra s/o for 30,000 pesos. bought the akra for 34,000. got ym bro?
