Exhaust mod

sooo..I should probably stop modifying my cbr600rr but it's just too addicting. I already have an aftermarket exhaust (scorpion) and it sounds great but after hearing in person (what I think was) a straight piped ninja 1000 i got the itch to make mine louder. I was thinking about taking apart my scorpion slip on and gutting the packing inside, anyone has any experience with this? kinda scared to mess up my pretty exhaust. Another idea that came to mind was buying some cheap fence post tubing at my local home depot just wide enough to fit inside the slip-on so that it goes from where the mid pipe ends to almost the end of the slip-on and essentially turning it into a straight pipe without really modding the slip on. u guys think this could work?
