PC3 resetting ignition while riding randomly

of course the word random is a pretty powerful word when you think about it. I'm sure there is a cause. In 06, when it started to reset my ignition while riding. Causing the oil light to go on and the dash to reset. I noticed the ground wire of the unit was pressed a bit by my seat, but the rubber of the wire was not compromised. I didn't hack up the wire to check the internal threads, but I'm assuming this may be causing the problem. Also, as a second possible cause, I noticed my pc3usb is a little warped and banged up from the heat. the bottom of the casing has bulged out. Is this prone to heat damage? What the hell? I removed it and the problem went away. But I wanna put it back in for 07. How can I assure the integrity of the unit?

Send it back to them to have it checked over maybe? Does it kill the bike when it resets too? Unless the ground wire is broken, having it exposed will just, well, ground it.

Yeah, it was killing the bike for a second. Picture this: you're riding full throttle then the bike dies for a second, the dash resets (rpm needle 0-15,5-0) and then it picks up again. Balls!

f*** it. It's going back to Dynojet today. Spoke to Kyle at Dynojet and he said they'll check it out and service it if it's defective. I'll post the results about what they say

Where did you have it mounted? Just wondering why it got so hot.

follow up

Just got the unit back since I sent it on march 6th 2007. The letter says "the unit has been replaced due to inconclusive tests results". So I just got a brand new one! Sweet!

Sure did. I'm actually keeping it in the seal because I'm thinking of selling it. I think my bike rides just fine without it and i could make some scratch up in canada for it.
