Gas tank removal???

I tried a search but found nothing. I installed a Knn on my friends R6 the other day and it took 10 minutes. I then went out and bought a Knn for my 06 rr and couldnt figure out how to get the damn gas tank off. Anyone with any help I would greatly appreciate it. I took the seat off and undid two bolts at the bottom then I went to the top two by the neck. From thier when it didnt come off I was trying to get the ram air covers off but it appeared as if I had to take the front upper off!!! Help!!!

there are 2 screws on the side of the tank.. you have to remove the top screw from the mid fairing and you should see it.

Don't need to take the upper off. But you do need to take off the ram air covers. Look at #40 and #22, I think that's the one you are missing.

Its just like clipped on... You have to bend the ram air covers a little and wiggle them out. They won't break, I promise.

Unscrew #28 and the plastic push pin on top of the mid and check on the other side of the same cover for another screw.
I didn't have it on my 05, but I think they have a screw on their 03-04's.
Then you bend it and try to get the tip out of the small groove out.
The hard part is getting it off the tank, I just pull down really hard until it pops out. Keep playing with it, it will eventually come out.
I can do it in about a minute, from doing it so many times.
