05 Ticking After Head Gasket Replacement

Just finished doing some work on the bike after letting her get too hot with a cracked radiator. There was sludge everywhere but all clean now
replaced the Head gasket, radiator, h20 pump(was broken from lowside) all hoses, and thermostat. After closing it up and turning it over (battery needs replacement, I was jumping it) there is this distinct ticking sound coming from the left side around the cam pulse generator.. not sure what it is but it does not sound well.. I really dont' want to have to pull the head cover off again but i'm guessing it's what I need to do. my buddy believes it may be valve clearance issue, I'm pushing 29K.. any ideas?

also - i think irrelevant, but my 4th header had a busted stud that needs replacing.. I screwed the adjacent one nice and tight to make a seal but my friend thinks there could be something related.

here's a vid

If one of the studs is busted it could be causing an exhaust leak and consequently ticking. I have a missing arrow mid pipe spring and its emitting a ticking noise until I can pick up one of my brothers spares.

Thought it was the CCT or something mid bike until I managed to trace it down at near idle. When the bike cooled I wrapped a rag around the clamp section for a few secs and the noise disappeared. Remove rag and it reappeared. Not sure the same procedure will work on the header area as it did on my mid pipe.

Just my thoughts.

hmm I really thought that missing stud was such an infinitesimal issue but youre the second to suggest it. Did it sound similar? Increased tick rate with revs?

Completely forgot to look at the video when I got home, That sounds like an exhaust leak to me, it has that quick sharp air compressor esque tick/hiss to it. I don't know if mine went up and down with RPM as I was just trying to pinpoint the location at idle in the garage.

Put in a temporary bolt with no luck. Looks like head cover is coming off and checking valve clearance. Also.. I thought the shims were magnetized to the buckets and a couple buckets tipped out when cleaning the head. I put them back(same order) but not carefully. Perhaps a shim is dislocated? Hopefully it'll be a fast open and close and I'll be back on the road bc the bike sounds beautiful otherwise

Oil still had a very small amount of sludge.. So I changed it out - but before putting in seafoam but replaced oil and threw a big ol magnet on the plug for any debris from the work. Rode it a block or so (desperate to be on two wheels!) to see performance and if the sound changed after warming up. No difference to me.. Very very slight low end loss/hesitation but also could be due a weird idle/throttle springback I'm getting. I think I have to check the area where they link, and the sound is very pronounced at mid/high rpms

First vid is after new ex stud placed still with sound and second is after a quick ride
