Idle Bounces Around

Hi everyone,

I have an 08 CBR600rr and on cold starts the idle bounces around around 1000-1200 rpm back and forth. It smooths out after Im riding a while and there doesnt seem to be any noticable difference in power/performance etc when Im riding. Is this normal?

I found a youtube vid of another RR doing the same but its basically exactly how my idle looks:

Any info is appreciated! thank you

Fouled sparkplugs can cause the idle to be erratic, when I put new sparkplugs in the idle smoothened out.

My 03 RR has the same symptoms as your 08. I've had the bike for 6 months and 5k miles now, and it has been doing this the entire time. Bike runs great. I don't see it as a problem. I figure it probably has something to do with the melted wax fast-idle automatic choke doohickey. At what rpms do you idle when warm?

New spark plugs made no difference for my bike in regards to this "problem" (although I should say my old spark plugs weren't that bad)
