Depends what type? If it's a manual APE CCT the process is usually straight forward. Make sure it comes with a gasket ( blocks oil passage) The install usually happens in the following manner:
1) Install unit into CCT housing, tighten up till you can feel resistance onto the chain. Try to minimally disrupt timing or cam movement. ( Usually not an issue)
2) After feeling resistance on the chain a bit, start the motor and you'll hear a audible sound of the buzz or BB's in a can of the timing chain slap. You'll want to tighten it up a quarter-1/4th more of a turn and rev the engine till it's gone throughout the RPM band.
3) Continue to tune CCT till you find a sweet spot. If you overdid it you'll notice a R/C car/ High Pitched sound. You'll need to back it off.
4) Once you're dialed in you'll lock the nut with thread locker and confirm you're setting. You may want to take white marker and mark your spot on the bolt or threads as a " zero point" for future adjustments.
Look up the procedure on YouTube, plenty of videos.
