Maybe they could of used titanium... but then cost would of been high for mass production. Would of been awesome by using titanium, making the overall design more compact, thinner and lighter. Other than costs, maybe the service life would of been shorter?
Regarding cylinder head instalation... can't believe that it costs around $160 bucks for new gaskets, o-rings, bolts, sealants, grease, etc. for a cylinder head. I know that's not super exspensive compared to HRC costs, but dang! Figured if there are no cracks in the rubber o-rings or gaskets, unless things are stated as a "torque to yield" item, I normally dont replace. According to the OEM manual, basically every gasket, o-ring and washer needs to he replaced... Well, it is Honda and knowing their reputation, they would probably reposses my CBR and replace me with another customer knowing I did not follow their steps!!! Little HRC/Honda racing joke! Hahaha
Gotta replace;
(1) Cam chain tensioner sealing washer
(1) Cam chain tensioner gasket
(4) Camshaft holder o-rings
(8) Camshaft holder bolts
(8) Camshaft holder bolt sealing washers
(1) Cylinder head cover packing
(4) Cylinder head cover rubber/washers
(4) Exhaust gaskets (whuch, I do not know where my daughter, Aprilia placed them! Hahaha Yes, that's right, Guys'... "Aprilia", becuase I couldn't name her Honda! Hahaha) ?
Please, correct me if I am wrong. I think those are all the items, minus the Cylinder Head Gasket... which, is safely stored in a little HRC package!!!!
