Judder spring seat direction

Rebuilding my clutch, the Haynes manual states " With the Convex side facing the spring seat". I was told opposite or maybe I'm confused.? Which direction would sit against the spring seat and face me looking at?

1st is the Convex
2nd is the Concave

judder washer goes in first, then the judder spring. as you look into the clutch the spring should appear concave to your view (with the OD of the spring working against the next plate you put in)

this is in agreement with the manual that says the convex side faces the spring seat (judder washer)

the middle of your 3 pictures shows how you will install it into the clutch. with the convex facing inwards.
