2004 cbr600 motor with 81 miles on it

I am the new owner of this motor that was pulled from a bike with only 81 miles on it. It has everything on it. Damaged right side cover. What do you guys think its worth? I bought it thinkin I could have it built without having any downtime. Was that stupid?

say what? parted out its probably worth two grand. sold as a whole......not much. under a grand since its stock and does have damage. ive seen engines go for 500 bucks. you bought it thinking you could have what built? the bike? if so....you can get the engine in the frame and the bike completely rebuilt in about 5 hours if your good with a wrench. what is your actual quesiton? :partyman:

I'm assuming he has another 600RR and he bought this extra motor to "build" and then swap out with his stocker.

I say build a go-kart! :evil2:

I thought of having the motor built as in up. More HP. Sending it to erion to have them put cam, valves, pistons etc. Then swap with my original and have no down time or very little.

Bad Idea? I bought it for $1025

I would say 1000-1500 depending on how bad the damage is...talk to your local go kart shops, these motors are like gold to them! I had a blow motor out of my last dirt bike i had(03 CRF 450) and they gave me 1100 just for the motor.

I havent looked at ebay for months. Yesterday, looking for a left side mirror, I saw this deal which ended 29 minutes later. Ofcourse I bid on it and won.

Anyways, here is the proper description. 81 miles on a 2004 motor. includes; header, wiring harness, throttle cables, airbox, fuel injection, cdi, motor bolts and clutch cable. The pictures look like the motor is new except for the engine cover which is scraped.
It is obviously a motor from a wrecked 600

My wining bid was 1,025 plus shipping. I figure i cant go wrong. Unless I dont use it for any purpose.

they used to go on ebay for 500 bucks early winter. obviously now prices are ski rocketing. anyway.......i dont think erion has anything in the way of cams or valves yet....unless they are just going to use hrc parts...which in that case....theres plenty of other places that will do it for a cheaper price tag.

I've never seen a 600 motor in a kart. I know they use the 450 or the 500 two stroke.

I might just build another bike for the track. Who knows

So i guess youve never seen the one with the GSXR 1300 in it?? Most Kart guys run small motors to save weight...its the tinkering guys and the ones who dont run profesionally that want these huge motors for such a little vehicle.
