Hes ones of these rich kids that wants a hayabusa or 1000rr but im am not letting him get one. i was thinking an ex250 but theres no way he'd fit (6'2). The ex500 should be ok. My friend is pretty tall, he did fine on a 500.

And good for you watching out for him.

Hey you're in the bay area. Where?

<--- me too!

You can also order the front fairings for it..only available in Europe I believe.

A cheap used one. Otherwise he'll hate himself even more when he goes down the first time or two.

Yea good call.My first bike tipped over a few times and I wiped it once. And my second street bike was dropped in my driveway when a guy was looking at buying it.I think that when he dropped it I could've been quoted as saying "You just bought it".LOL

It's not IF,but WHEN.Make sure the guy knows this.

Well the annoying part is, he has money... Hes like what should i spend 20k? im like uh no at the most under 10. So ill talk him into something like an sv or ex500 most likely. Well see if i can get him to get a used bike that would probably be best.

1000cc bike (at least in the US) ...not a good starter bike.

If you're in WC, we should meet up sometime! I'm in san ramon!

Another vote here for an SV650. It's a great bike not bad to learn on and he'll never out grow it... He can get the standard looking SV650 or the more sporty partially fairinged SV650S...

I honestly think Honda is positioning their US markets out of the learner/beginner bike market. Which is a shame, because if they made a versital enough beginner bike. Youl would never have to buy another bike again, if you didn't want to...
