Input Needed Here Please!

Hey guys/girls.It's now time to order my bodywork from the dealer and begin my 10 month waiting period until it's here.lol...I have a slight dilemma.I had the Black/Tribal as some of you know, and I absolutely love it! But I've been thinking about it and I'm starting to consider the red instead.I wouldn't be considering the red, except I have a really nice scheme in mind.It won't be a Repsol scheme since they're kinda being overdone now (although I still love them),but it's a basic RC211V Replica. It would be real easy to pull it off and it'll look hot as hell and I like the clean look to it.Please give me your opinions.

dude, don't buy the body work from the dealer. FInd someone on here that it selling theres. You'll get a lot better price!

That doesn't look all that much different then the way the red pain scheme comes from the factory. It will just look stock with a few more/different stickers. If your going to scheme out a bike I would do it so it doesn't look like other bikes or bikes you can't really buy.

It doesn't look that much different, correct. But I can't afford to throw down a pile of money on paint and decals for a scheme that everyone and their accountant is doing.I just like the clean look of it and it'll be quite easy to set it off from the rest of the RR's in my riding crowd.

Eazy.I did make an attempt to buy that red bodywork and everything else "formergixxer" had for sale, but it turns out the insurance company won't cut a cheque until the work is done and I don't have the cash to order it until I get the insurance money.I would've saved alot of money but it just didn't work out, unfortunately.

Moe,thanks for the input man.I'm really feelin this scheme.

Maybe I missed something, did you lay it down or otherwise F up your bodywork? Like others here said, you can get it cheaper on here, or ebay or something similar than the dealer. And if your going to make it custom, it probably doesn't matter what color it is as any quality painter will sand it down and primer it first anyhow.

I think the RCV's Black "wing" graphics flow with the body lines a lot better.

BTW Somone forgot to drill holes in the brakes on that bike.

Haha yea you must've missed the bunch of posts that invloved discussions of my bike accident that ended in some injuries and a smashed up 05RR.lol...As I said above,I already tried to buy bodywork from a member here, but I don't have the cash to buy it,then get reimbursed by the insurance company,so I'm forced to buy directly from dealer.I'm not having the bike painted after i get the new bodywork.I'd be changing the wings on the side, adding a small difference to the front cowl, and some other small stuff. It's just a nice clean RC replica and I know people will be asking why their 05 Red/Black looks different.lol

+1 on that.

Who's the master photoshop dude these days? I haven't seen much of Mule around, but I'd love it if he could do a chop for me.
What I need is someone on this site with a red 05 to give me permission to use a pic of their bike.I'd appreciate it.

I really do like that scheme. I'm not a huge fan of the red/black OEM scheme, but this is just different enough for me to really like it.

Didn't someone already replicate that scheme replacing the red with orange? He entered it in one of the 2004 Bike of the Month polls.

It's not a bad looking scheme though. Try "Safety" Red or day-glo red.

I'm just going to use the original red.If I was paying to have the bike painted,I would just go with the Repsol scheme, but I really don't trust anyone painting my bike.I'm a picky bastid and I won't accept a single fisheye in the paint.

No worries mate!lol

..I think I'm gonna go for it.I have to order my plastics on Monday..The only thing that can stop me from getting the red is if I can order the plain black plastics..Any chance a Canadian dealer can do that???????
