Best way to buy a bike?

Does anyone have any input to the best way to get a good deal on a new bike?

Should I walk into the dealer being aggressive, offering so much money or I walk?

Or should I be calm, slow and calculated, going back again and again with different offers?

Anybody with stories of how they got the best deal and how much they paid would be great.

Also, should I pay in cash, or financing?

The best way to buy something is to be sure you know what you want and not be emotional. Not all dealerships are out there to rape you and plenty of salesmen are good guys. I would talk to every dealership in the area. None of them want to put a price on paper and let you comparison shop, but you can get the general ieda of what a good deal is. Different regions have different demands and different pricing.

I expect people are going to post about how they were a super jerk and got a great deal. Others will say they paid X amount and forget to tell you that was before tags, title, tax, liscense, etc...

Signatures are stupid.

I say best way is cash and you dont need to be a jerk just know what the prices are going for and when you go in let them know what you want to pay. Be set on your price and if they really want to sell the bike they will if not do some more shopping.

My first advice would be- to not go in.

Find your local or semi-local dealerships and call around. Find out what they are offering. Say "im looking at this bike what is your MSRP, do you have any deals, waht are you looking to get it away for, blah blah... When you've called a few and got the lowest price, see if any are meet or beat. Sometimes they will say 9,000 out the door, and another is 8,500 msrp. there are about 1000 dollars worth of other fees, (if you get warrenty, maybe more), so do your homework first before you walk into a dealership and are pushed to buy. Also ask if they will give you any deals on helmets, jackets, services.. you know. GL dude.

do your research and have cash in hand, and being a ******* does help if you get the creepy salesperson vibes from them. hey i threw a fit in a car dealership because they tried screwing me and i got them to pay off a car completly it was worth way less than i owed and they gave me 10 grand off the truck i have now. You just gotta feel the situation out.
