Does Your Helmet Shell Stink?

Most helmets have removable liners which are washable.

But does your shell still stink?

See poll.

Nope! Not at all.

Never really worn a helmet for longer than a year-ish. I commute a lot so about an average of 2 hours 4 days a week, plus the weekend twists and trackdays.

Wash the inserts and wipe down my outer every other day or so. Ride with my vents open whenever it's warm out. I suppose that helps a bit too.

Hmm..

Maybe I don't sweat much, but I've never had to wash the liner of any of my helmets. I just dug my old helmet (an icon mainframe from like 2003) and it still has that new helmet smell. weird...

I washed mine in the washing machine... No problems...

The stink went away...

Now I'm using:

It works perfect!... still every year I put my liners in the machine...!

I'm starting to think keeping my gloves in my helmet is not the best place for them.
