Is the 600rr better than everyone else?

I need to make my mind up ,personally i love the CBRs front end and is what i most likely will stick with but the R6 is tempting..what makes the CBR RR better than the rest?does anyone have suggestions or advice why i should pick the RR over the R6? would help me a lot:icon_salu

I heard from some people that the R6 can't take as much abuse as the RR. Not too sure. The R6 does look like an impressive bike. I, personally, am going to keep with the RR for awhile.

the new R6 is pretty sweet , but I would see which bike you feel better on. Sit on them both or go to your local stealership and test drive both bikes.... Theres no sense buying a bike just for looks alone.... I LOVE my RR it feels great to me, rides like a dream and has plenty of power for anything you want to do.

To me, there are no bikes that are better or worse than others. All the new sportbikes are so close in performance, it just comes down to personal preference. I chose my RR over the Gix and the R6 because I thought it looked the best. And, Honda has great reliability history, and fit and finish nobody can come close to. So, just get the bike you like... you really can't go wrong with any of the modern day sportbikes. Except the Kawis of course... They might make good engines, but the rest of the bike is crap! With that said, the new 06 Gix and R6 are pretty damn nice! I wanna see what Honda will do in 07.

Exactly! buy what you like, but remember, if you get a honda in 10 years you could still just be changing oil and tires with no worries.

I think theyre both great bikes. My decision came down to the Raven R6 or the all black 600RR. Ive had great luck with Honda cars (owned two of them) so I went with the Honda. I also think the Honda just looks better. The Yamaha just looked kind of cheap in places. I'm not saying it is, but it looked that way.

As far as comfort, I didn't feel much difference between the two.

Also, depending on what year R6 you're looking at, it might not be fuel injected. I don't think the R6 started having fuel injection until 2002 or 2003. I could be wrong on that though.

Just take a look at the R6 verses the RR and note the craftsmanship. I mean look at the pot metal the R-6 engine covers are made of. Tap on an R6's covers and listen. Tonka toy material! This was one of the many instances that reminded me to BUY HONDA! I have only owned one other bike that was not a Honda. 98 Ducati that I purchased in Italy. I brought it back to the states in a crate new and within 2 weeks of having it set up I sold it and went back to Honda.

I must say the 06' R6 is rather impressive both in performance and appearance. But to tell you the truth its all about feel....yeah you can be riding the must appealing bike on the market but it might be the shitiest ride ever.... I say go sit on every 600 made... and then pick... But if your buying new... I would wait and see what the 07 rr is all about...

here we go again.... lol. im guessing most of you are talking about the unrealistically high redline which is just a selling point (and has reeled you all in) since power still drops off at a mere 500 rpms later than the RR and also comes in later than the RR which is much more important than top end. so thats all that i will say about that. all other discrepencies can be looked up in my past posts about this topic lol

other than that i just have one thing to say Honda = jet engines and artificial intelligence robotics. Yamaha = pianos

I may be buying a Yamaha Warrior Next spring (in addition to my RR). I hope it doesnt handle like a piano.

If I had not bought the RR last year, this would absolutely be my next bike (and it still may be.) MSRP: $8,999.00

That triumph is awesome. I wanna ride it soooo bad to see how that 3 cyl is.

To get back on topic, I think the 06 r6 is a sweeeet looking bike, but to me yamahas are pretty boy bikes. Gixxers are squid bikes. And hondas are built to be ridden hard. Of course these are just my general opinion. Obviously not everyone on a yamaha is a prissy pretty boy, just like not everyone on a GSXR is a squid....and I've certainly seen plenty of hondas that dont get ridden for sh!t.

Performance wise they are all close, and unless you race hard it probably doesnt matter what you get, so go with the one that fits you best and you like the most.

Read some reviews on http://www.sportrider.com/ and pick up some bike mags.

It all comes down to what you feel the best on! Youll have fun on any of em!

Think about it this way... if you buy the Honda, you get to chill with all these cool people on 600RR.net, but if you buy the Yamaha, you will be banished from 600RR.net ... j/k.

Seriously though, I would go look at them both and see which one just looks and feels better to you. Riding-wise, I like how the RR feels better than the R6... sitting-wise, they're pretty similar. If you still can't decide, get that Triumph. It kinda looks like the offspring of an RR and an R6.

Oh, and to be fair, if Honda started making pianos, they probably wouldn't be as good as Yamaha pianos.

if yamaha attempted to make jet engines and robots they would not be as good as honda's stuff.... lol which is more heavily weighted toward what we are talking about? reliability of an engine or that of a piano? lol

never heard of being able to test drive a new bike.... dont think you can because of the break in. no one wants to buy a new bike that wasnt broken in by them for brand new price. maybe im wrong but dont think you can

You can take any bike for a test drive! How are you supposed to buy something without testing it out first....If your dealer dont let you test ride a bike or have a demo to ride go elsewhere.

If you are seriously there to purchase a bike they WILL let you go for a test ride..... you mean to tell me all you schmucks just go in and dump 9 g's on a bike without riding it first??? LOL thats total SQUID!

I Rode my friends 03 R6 this summer and I did not like it as much as my 05 RR. I just felt more comfortable on the RR and IMO I think it was more responsive then the R6 was. Then again that was an 03 and these bikes can vary from yr to yr but the RR is my first bike and Im so glad I ended up getting a Honda.

To Each is to Own! but Honda engines can take more of a beating, dont let marketing schemes win you over, like the 17K rpm redline, although it does have it, whats the use if the powerband drops at 15K... like the claimed 140 crank hp numbers, the RR is rated at 135 at the crank, but honda doesnt market it like its a big deal the way Yamaha does...
but again, its your choice, were all on the 2 wheels, thats all that matters...
