What comic books did you (or still do) read.

In the spirit of another post today, I was curious as to the ratio of comic book fans to 600RR members/riders. I have included a poll of ten comic book heroes/genre's becuse the poll was limited to ten entries. Please enlighten everyone if there is any character or team etc... that you would like to add. I will start off.

1. Punisher
2. Wolverine
3. X-Men (all versions)
4. Spider-Man (all versions)
5. Spawn

The list could go on for quite awhile but you get the idea.

I really never got into the whole comic book thing. The one thing which I guess might be considered a comic book that I thought was abosolutely awesome was Mad magazine. I loved that magazine when I was a kid. Awesome potty humor. I wonder if they still sell them?

I am pretty sure they do, I just heard a radio interview with the chief writer the other day. That was some off-the-wall humor. I think it was you either got-it or didn't humor.

It had lots of sarcasm, and I'm a sarcastic bastid so it appealed to me. : )

Used to collect.. I'd have to give a big thumbs up to McFarlane's run of "Spider-Man"

+1 on McFarlane's Spidey, in my opinion the best spidey series i ever read. Much darker than the rest of spidey books. After he left it seemed the series became just another Spiderman book.
Another personal fave was Faust by Tim Vigil. Very dark, and extremely violent. Originaly was only a limited run that seemed to come out whenever rather than the typical monthly release schedule. I think they made a movie out of the series a while back, flick was kind of cheesy, but had a great soundtrack.

Mcfarlane Spidey for me. I have finally collected all of them but 1, the Chromium Cover.
I have been looking everywhere. I finally found the Platinum edition last year. That
was before the wife, so I could blow money on that kind of stuff. Now, I would loose
a testicle if I blew $100-$200 on a comic. So, my next bonus, I'm going to set aside
some cheese so I can go hunting for my Chromium Spider-Man #1.

Oh, and I subscribe to the new Ultimate Spider-Man, and Ultimate X-Men. I gave up
all my magazine subscriptions for them. WHOO HOO! That is the only thing I collect
so my new wife thinks it's cute.

Be quiet Brain, or I'll stab you with a Q-Tip

I was wondering how long it would take. I don't think most of 'em even know what Archie is.

Talking

I've been collecting comic books since junior high (yeah..back in the stone ages before it was called "middle school"). I've got a special 1980's box featuring "Power Pack" (mutant kiddies) w/crossover with X-Men; Alpha Flight; ROM (gadzooks...am I dating myself or what?!); Secret Wars I & II; Wolverine & Cable; Silver Surfer; Uncanny X-Men; and a few I can't even recall, it's been so long since I've sealed the box (1990).

My favorites comics in the collection are Superman; X-Men (all mutations of the series); Spiderman; and Wolverine. Plan to give it to my nephew when he gets older (he's 5).

Comics are an addiction....much like motorcycle riding
