PhD pony riders?

Just curious to know how many members have or are getting a PhD or MD. I'm finishing up my PhD in Chemical Physics at Georgia Tech - hoping to get out before next christmas and move out to the west coast.

Nice. I started out as an ME major then switched - my advisor calls me a 'closet engineer.' My sister is a student at UCI. Would have loved to have gone to one of the UC schools.

My riding bud went to UGA (as did his girl.) I go up to athens once in a blue moon and man it is so much more fun there. I've got some friends in grad school there - def. jelous sometimes.

AS in psych, BA in psych, 12 hrs from a master's in psych(research and development) before I realized I didn't really care for it. Now I'm working on an AA as an Information Security Specialist. I'll probably plan to pursue a BS once I'm done with the AA, but on a part time basis; if I don't get back to work within the next year, I think my wife will start thinking I'm a career student.

lol... I think for me thats the reason why I can't find a wife :) A friend of mine did his PhD in physics and then, after briefly working for NASA, decided, hey, what the hell, went to med school at Columbia U. He'll be in his early 40s before finishing his residency and previously only having had a real job for 4 months.

I figure if I didn't have to worry about money i'd stay in school forever... or open a strip club... decisions decisions.

USMC eh - thats pretty cool stuff. A friend of mine has me wanting to go into the army as a specialist and trying to make it into CAG (DF) via the 75th rangers. Something very appealing about the oppurtunity to go through spook training.
